My name is Juliette Young and I am a counsellor, psychotherapist and hypnotherapist working from the Human Givens approach to emotional health and wellbeing. I offer sensible, pragmatic and solution focused therapy, that will swiftly help to change your perspective and create new patterns of behaviour, enabling you to harness your own innate resources and skills, and move forwards with your life. My aim is always that you should leave feeling better than you did when you arrived, right from the very first session.
Prior to training in The Human Givens approach, I spent 11 years working as a reflexologist. As well as my private practice, 9 of those years were spent as a volunteer reflexologist at a cancer support centre based at The Mulberry Centre, gaining valuable experience working with a range of clients.
I worked with anyone affected by cancer – patients, family, carers and those bereaved by it. Since 2013 I have been employing my Human Givens counselling skills there instead, as I find I can be of even more benefit to people in this way. Every client is asked to fill in an evaluation form when counselling has ended, and I have been getting consistently excellent feedback. I am also registered with PTSD Resolution a charity that provides relief and resolution to ex-servicemen suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. In the summer of 2014 I also completed a diploma in Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy, which has further enhanced my ability to provide effective therapy in the shortest number of sessions.
